The Sturgeon Moon
There is something about an August full moon that feels different. Summer has not ended, but it has begun to reveal its limits. The days are still hot. The evenings may still carry the heaviness of summer air. Gardens are producing. Trees are full. Insects are loud. The world does not yet look like autumn. And yet the season is changing. You can feel it in the shortening daylight. You can see it in what has ripened. You may notice it in the first hints of fatigue after months
